CHES PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The Program objective of the CHES Nurse Aide Training Program is to provide quality educational services to students so as to result in nurse aides who are able to:

  1. Form a relationship, communicate and interact competently on a one-to-one basis with the residents;
     

  2. Demonstrate sensitivity to residents' emotional, social, and mental health needs through skillful, directed interactions;
     

  3. Assist residents in attaining and maintaining independence;
     

  4. Exhibit behavior in support and promotion of residents' rights; and
     

  5. Demonstrate observational and documenting skills needed in the assessment of a resident's health, physical condition and well-being.


CALENDAR AND HOUR REQUIREMENTS

CHES, LLC is closed on all federal holidays. The calendar for class changes through the year and will repeat at selected intervals. Contact your referring agency for information on the next class.

This program has the following hour requirements:

CLASSROOM HOURS: A total of 39 classroom hours will occur at the CHES Classroom. All classroom hours are taught by the Primary Instructor-Kathy Menezes, RN or Victoria Unaeze, RN.

LABORATORY HOURS: A total of 30 laboratory hours will occur also at the CHES Classroom. All lab hours will be taught by the Primary Instructor, Kathy Menezes, RN or Victoria Unaeze, RN and, if needed, a Delegated Instructor.

CLINICAL HOURS: A total of 31 clinical hours will occur at a state approved SNF. All clinical hours will be taught by the Primary Instructor, Kathy Menezes, RN or Victoria Unaeze, RN; assisted as necessary by an approved Delegated Instructor.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS/CERTIFICATE

Students must complete all state required curriculum, lab and clinical performance tasks to a satisfactory level to complete. Minimum state required hours must be met. Completion will be followed by a Completion Certificate; a copy of which will be faxed to the state CNA testing authority so the student can be registered for the certification test.

CLASSROOM completion requires a minimum grade of 74% on all tests and assignments.

CLINICAL/LAB completion requires a satisfactory task grade (completed to a 100% compliance with listed task steps)

A completion grade sheet will also be given to each student.

REFUND POLICY

The tuition and fees paid by the applicant shall be refunded if the applicant is rejected by the school before enrollment. An application fee of not more than $25.00 may be retained by the school if the application is denied. All tuition and fees paid by the applicant shall be refunded if requested within 3 business days after signing a contract with the school. All refunds shall be returned within 30 days. Once the 3 business days have elapsed the following refund policy will apply:
Students who do not complete the course, due to medical or personal reasons may be due a reimbursement of part or all of the class cost. The following applies:

Dropped before first class: 100% return minus $25.00 processing fee
Dropped before first clinical: 75% return minus $25.00 processing fee
Dropped before second clinical : 50% return minus $25.00 process fee
Dropped after second clinical : No return of costs

The above only applies if a student personally pays tuition costs. If the student tuition is paid by a referring agency, the tuition reimbursement will be made to that agency.
